On September 24th we were lucky enough to be invited to the wedding of one of our fellow teachers - Jusin Lewis - originally from Dundas, ON. He met his wife Hee-woo (pronounced 'Hue') while teaching here in Korea.

The wedding had both familiar and unfamiliar elements, and it was great to have the chance to celebrate Justin and Hee-woo's commitment to each other.

Justin's mother and Hee-woo's mother both dressed in the traditional Korean Hanbok lit candles for their children prior to the ceremony.

Justin's friend Nate, and ordained minister, was able to make it to Korea to marry them, a nice personal touch.

Hee-woo bowing to her parents. An important component of the ceremony is when the newly married couple together bows to each set of parents.

The wedding hall, built like a medieval castle. The wedding ceremony was capped off when Hee-woo's friends (in the balcony) did a lip sync/dance to a popular Korean song. (Very "Love Actually.")

An interesting component to the ceremony was when the glass roof of the wedding hall rolled back and everyone was give a balloon. As Justin and Hee-woo cut the cake, the MC counted down and all together everyone released their balloons into the sky. Below is the video that Chris took of the balloons being set free.
